Lifeline Fire and Safety
Systems Lifeline was established in 1980, and soon became the leading manufacturer and supplier of on board fire suppression systems to the motorsport industry. The first generation of systems produced by Lifeline, were manufactured using Halon 1211 as the extinguishing agent; however, due to environmental pressures the manufacturer of Halon ceased under the Montreal Protocol. Thus the race was on to devise an effective replacement for an extinguishing agent that had provided many years of valuable service. Lifeline took the pioneering route and introduced an environmentally friendly foam based extinguishant, Zero 2000. Lifeline, the originator of on board fire systems, offers their Zero 2000 range of systems for club racing, sports cars, and open wheel formula cars. Lifeline Zero 2000 systems are constructed using only the finest materials, and are supplied complete with all the necessary components required for a professional installation. The Zero 2000 systems performed supremely well in engine fire tests and have earned full approval of the SCCA, FIA, and the British MSA. The FIA approved systems have been homologated by the FIA for use in International motorsport and have been awarded homologation numbers EX.002.98 and EX.020.05. Zero 2000 systems are environmentally friendly, light weight, foam based extinguisher systems. Zero 2000 is not just an extinguishant but an integrated system, the foam compound itself being specially formulated to cope with the rigorous demands of motorsport. Whereas previous extinguisher systems had been deployed through a simple conical nozzle, an integral part of the Zero 2000 system is the uniquely designed atomizer nozzle. The nozzle breaks the foam into minute particles, smothering the fire with a fine mist that forms an invisible seal over the target area, cooling and thus preventing re-ignition.
Fire Marshal Systems Fire Marshal systems are mechanical in operation being activated by strategically placed pull cables. The Fire Marshal valve is a high quality hand held commercial valve that has been modified by Lifeline to allow total discharge and fitting of cables.

102-400-001 4.0ltr Steel Fire Marshal
A high quality FIA approved mechanical plumbed-in extinguisher kit with a hand crafted aluminum cylinder. System distributes 2.0ltrs of extinguishant to the engine through two nozzles and 2.0ltrs to the cockpit through two nozzles. Equal to approximately 10lbs. of Halon 1211.
102-400-002 4.0Ltr Aluminum Fire Marshal.
Zero 2000 Electric Systems Electric systems are activated by pressing a strategically mounted momentary push button. Using a Military Specification actuator to detonate the extinguisher, the actuator extends a steel pin upon activation, breaking a seal in the neck of the cylinder and thus allowing discharge of the extinguishant. All electric systems have their own independent power supply called a power pack that has circuits for checking the battery strength and circuit continuity as well as giving a visible indication that the system is armed.
